Turystyczna and does not allow leaving a vehicle for more than 24 hours.

Do you pay on Sundays and at night?

Yes. Car parks in Szklarska Poręba are charged around the clock on every day of the week, including Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays — this follows the car park rules (§2.1 and §3.2), and the signs are D-18 with a note about payment 24 h a day, 7 days a week. There are no free hours and no free Sundays, and the resolution sets no separate winter rates.

How do you pay?

Who parks for free?

Electric cars are exempt, as are drivers with a valid disabled parking card when they use bays marked with a blue “envelope”. The rules also exempt municipal service vehicles (gas, power and water emergency services, the municipal guard and MZGK). Neither exemption applies at the ul. Turystyczna car park — everybody pays there, and a disabled parking card still has to be displayed.

What happens if you have no ticket?

The additional charge is 200 PLN — for parking without paying, for staying longer than paid for, or with an invalid pass. It is payable within 14 days to the account given in the notice, and a written complaint can be filed with the manager within the same 14 days. The charge is cancelled if you show a valid ticket or pass, and also if you prove that you paid within 15 minutes of your ticket expiring. On ul. Turystyczna there are extra charges: 200 PLN for a lost or damaged ticket, 150 PLN for a new pass card and 150 PLN plus costs for towing or moving a badly parked vehicle.

Where can coaches park?

Buses and vans with more than 9 seats pay 25 PLN for the first hour and 20 PLN for each further hour, up to 200 PLN per day, at every municipal car park including ul. Turystyczna. The town map marks three places where coach parking is possible: “Parking centrum 1” on ul. Turystyczna (with a toilet), the car park by the Szrenica cable car and the “Kamienny Krąg” car park on ul. Kilińskiego. The rules (§5.8) tell drivers of such vehicles to use marked bays and, where there are none, to take up as few spaces as possible. We have collected the details on the coach parking page.

Is there free parking in Szklarska Poręba?

The town writes about “a dozen or so car parks and parking places of two kinds: paid and free”, but it publishes no list of the free ones — the resolution names only paid car parks, and free ones appear only on an interactive map. Of those we could confirm: the car park at the Zakręt Śmierci viewpoint is free (OpenStreetMap records no fee), as is the car park by St Maximilian Kolbe Church below Krucze Skały and the car parks at Dinopark and Muzeum Ziemi JUNA. The lots by the KPN “Szklarka” ticket office are described as free in route guides, but there is no official notice — always check the signs on the spot.

Charging an electric car, and camper vans

Electric cars park free at municipal car parks (except ul. Turystyczna), which is not the same as charging them. The only car park in the area with confirmed charging points is the underground car park of the regional sports centre at Polana Jakuszycka. The town has designated no site for camper vans — the resolution does not mention them, and the rules of the ul. Turystyczna car park admit vehicles up to 3.5 t.

Who runs the car parks?

The municipal car parks are run by MZGK, the municipal utility company, ul. 1 Maja 53C, 58-580 Szklarska Poręba. Phone: +48 75 717 23 56, email: sekretariat@mzgk-szklarskaporeba.pl. The office is open Monday to Friday from 7:00 to 15:00 and sells the half-year and annual passes.
