Which part of town should you look in?
- The centre and the promenade on ul. Jedności Narodowej — the widest choice, from Polish and regional cooking to Italian. Nearby ul. 1 Maja has traditional inns and a brewery restaurant.
- Szklarska Poręba Górna — around ul. Turystyczna and ul. Kilińskiego, close to the lower station of the Szrenica cable car: handy before or after a hike.
- Szklarska Poręba Dolna — ul. Jeleniogórska, ul. Górna and ul. Kołłątaja, near Leśna Huta glassworks and the trail to Szklarka Waterfall.
- Jakuszyce — restaurants at Polana Jakuszycka and by the road to the Czech border crossing, used to skiers and cyclists.
- Mountain huts — buffets up in the mountains, so you do not have to walk back down for a hot soup.

Practical tips
- It gets busy in season and on rainy days. When the weather spoils plans on the trails, town restaurants fill up at lunchtime — come early or book a table.
- Book ahead for a larger group. Reservations are taken by Bistorante 654, the Czarny Kamień restaurant, Horyzont Smaków, Gościniec Pod Lipą and Restauracja Jakuszycka, among others.
- Check kitchen hours before heading up. At the Hala Szrenicka hut the buffet serves all hikers until 20:00; the Szrenica hut does not publish buffet hours, so phone ahead.
- Some venues publish no hours at all. Karczma Karkonoska, U Hochoła and Karczma Hutnika (which points to Facebook for current hours) are examples — a phone call is the safest option.
- In Jakuszyce hours change between 31 August and 24 September 2026, as announced by Polana Jakuszycka for Restauracja Jakuszycka and Bistro Cafe Julianka.

A separate children’s menu is offered by Bistro na Widoku in the centre, Gościniec Pod Lipą on ul. Turystyczna and the Czarny Kamień restaurant, which also provides bibs and colouring sheets. Bistro Weranda in Szklarska Poręba Górna has a children’s corner.
On the red trail below Szrenica, the buffet at the Hala Szrenicka hut serves all hikers until 20:00. At the summit of Szrenica (1,362 m) the Szrenica hut has its own kitchen, but publishes no buffet hours. In Jakuszyce you can eat at Polana Jakuszycka.
Bistro na Widoku in the centre serves breakfast from 9:30 to 12:00. In Jakuszyce, Bistro Cafe Julianka serves breakfast from 7:00 to 10:00, and the Biathlon hotel breakfast buffet runs from 8:00 to 10:00 and is open to non-residents too.
Regional and traditional Polish dishes are served at U Hochoła in the Mariental Brewery, Karczma Karkonoska, Karczma Hutnika, Karczma Placek czy Golonka (known for pork knuckle and potato pancakes) and Bistro Weranda, which serves kwaśnica soup with ribs.
Bistro Weranda describes itself as pet-friendly and Gościniec Pod Lipą accepts guests with animals if you say so when booking. Dogs are also welcome at the Hala Szrenicka mountain hut. The Cichosza restaurant does not accept animals.
