Szklarka Waterfall near Szklarska Poręba
Szklarka Waterfall (Wodospad Szklarki) is a 13-metre waterfall in Karkonosze National Park on the border of Piechowice and Szklarska Poręba, right next to national road no. 3. Entry is covered by the regular park ticket: 11 PLN, reduced 5.50 PLN (as of September 2026).
What is Szklarka Waterfall like?
The Szklarka stream drops about 13 metres here, at around 525 m above sea level. From the “Szklarka” national park ticket office on road no. 3, a wide, surfaced path leads to a viewing platform — the walk usually takes 10–15 minutes. The national park runs an educational trail to the waterfall, and the PTTK Kochanówka mountain hut is nearby.
Can you bring a pushchair or a dog?
- Yes to pushchairs — the path is wide and surfaced, though there may be a few stones, so larger wheels help.
- Dogs are allowed on a lead; the Szklarka path is not on the national park’s list of dog-free sections.
Good to know
- The park ticket is valid all day across the whole national park, but it does not cover the Kamieńczyk Waterfall gorge, which has its own fee.
- The blue trail continues uphill to the Pod Łabskim Szczytem mountain hut.
- Walking back to the centre of Szklarska Poręba, the national park asks you to use the green trail towards Ponura Małpa rather than the verge of busy road no. 3.
