Is the trail open?

Please note: since 16 June 2026 the red and black trail section from the car park to Rozdroże pod Kamieńczykiem has been closed until further notice because of road works (notice from the Szklarska Poręba Forest District). This is the start of the classic route. Detour options are marked on the map in the town notice (opens in a new tab) (in Polish) — check the current status and allow extra time.

What is the route like?

The route follows the red Main Sudetes Trail. It is technically easy but a long, rocky climb. Approximate times from trail descriptions:

• Town centre – Kamieńczyk Waterfall: about 50–60 minutes.
• Kamieńczyk – Hala Szrenicka: about 1 hour 10 minutes of steady climbing.
• Hala Szrenicka – summit: about 35–40 minutes. At Graniczna Łąka the red trail bypasses the top; the black trail leads to the summit.
• Descent the same way: usually about 1 hour 45 minutes to 2 hours.

Shorter or longer options

You can ride the Szrenica cable car up and walk down, or the other way round; the cable car ticket does not include park entry. For a full day, the national park’s 14 km loop combines the red trail via Kamieńczyk and Hala Szrenicka, the ridge past Trzy Świnki, the green Mokra Droga to the Pod Łabskim Szczytem hut and the yellow trail back to town.

Children, pushchairs and dogs

• A pushchair will not work on the rocky trail — use a baby carrier, or take the cable car with younger children.
• Dogs must be on a lead in the park and are banned at Kamieńczyk Waterfall and on the green Mokra Droga trail. Check the national park dog map (opens in a new tab) (in Polish).
• In winter the park closes some trails depending on snow; the ridge is cold and windy. The Hala Szrenicka hut is open 24 hours a day all year.
