Szrenica mountain hut — where to eat at the summit above Szklarska Poręba
The Szrenica mountain hut (Schronisko Szrenica) stands on the summit of Szrenica at 1,362 m above Szklarska Poręba, inside Karkonosze National Park. Its own website names three specialities: pancakes with bilberries, “czar gór” — hot chocolate with a shot — and the Szrenica cheesecake. The hut does not publish buffet hours; its phone, +48 75 75 260 11, is answered from 9:00 to 19:00.
What can you eat at the hut?
The hut runs its own kitchen. On its website it names three dishes as its specialities:
- pancakes with bilberries,
- “czar gór” — hot chocolate with a shot of spirit,
- the Szrenica cheesecake (sernik szrenicki).
When is food served?
The hut does not publish the hours of its buffet. It does say that the phone is answered between 9:00 and 19:00, so if you are heading up at a particular time — or coming back late in the afternoon — call +48 75 75 260 11 and ask until when meals are served.
How do you get there?
- By cable car — the Szrenica cable car takes you to the summit where the hut stands.
- On foot on the red trail — the walk up Szrenica via Hala Szrenicka, with a stop at the Hala Szrenicka hut.
The hut lies within Karkonosze National Park, so a ticket applies on the trails: 11 PLN standard and 5.50 PLN reduced (as of September 2026).
What else is there?
Besides beds, the hut has a dance hall and runs holiday stays — New Year’s Eve, Christmas Eve and Easter among them. Accommodation is booked through the online system on the hut’s website, which at the time of checking offered dates up to 23 December 2026.
Śnieżne Kotły is within reach from here. Other places to eat are on our Where to eat in Szklarska Poręba page.
