Hala Szrenicka mountain hut (Schronisko PTTK na Hali Szrenickiej)
The PTTK mountain hut on Hala Szrenicka (Schronisko PTTK na Hali Szrenickiej) stands at about 1,200 m below Szrenica, above Szklarska Poręba, in Karkonosze National Park. It is open 24 hours a day all year; reception works 8:00–21:00 and the buffet serves all hikers until 20:00.
Is the trail open?
Please note: since 16 June 2026 the red and black trail section from the car park to Rozdroże pod Kamieńczykiem has been closed until further notice (road works). This is the start of the most popular route to Hala Szrenicka. Detours are shown in the town notice (opens in a new tab) (in Polish).
How to get there
- Red trail from Szklarska Poręba past Kamieńczyk Waterfall — about 1 hour 10 minutes of climbing from the waterfall.
- By cable car — the hut itself suggests parking at the lift and taking the Szrenica cable car or the red trail.
- Green trail from Jakuszyce — rerouted in 2024 to protect black grouse; dogs are banned on the green Mokra Droga.
Driving up to the hut is possible only after contacting reception. A Karkonosze National Park ticket is needed on the trail (11 PLN, reduced 5.50 PLN, as of September 2026).
Dogs and winter
The hut describes itself as dog-friendly, but dogs must be on a lead in the national park and are banned at Kamieńczyk Waterfall and on the green Ścieżka nad Reglami. In winter the hut is a base for skiers and ski tourers, with equipment rental.
