Pod Łabskim Szczytem mountain hut (Schronisko PTTK Pod Łabskim Szczytem)
The PTTK Pod Łabskim Szczytem mountain hut stands at 1,168 m on the rim of the Łabski Kocioł cirque above Szklarska Poręba, in Karkonosze National Park. The most popular route is the yellow trail from ul. Urocza in Szklarska Poręba (about 4.3 km and 480 m of ascent), and a park ticket is required (11 PLN, as of September 2026).
Where is it?
The hut is on the northern slope of Łabski Szczyt, more than 300 metres below the summit, and is a starting point towards Śnieżne Kotły.
How to get there
- Yellow trail from ul. Urocza (near the Mineralogical Museum) — about 4.3 km and 480 m of ascent; trail descriptions give anything from about 1 hour 10 minutes to about 2 hours.
- Blue trail from Szklarka Waterfall, the black trail from Jagniątków or the green Mokra Droga.
Tickets, dogs and seasonal closures
- A Karkonosze National Park ticket costs 11 PLN (reduced 5.50 PLN). A mobile ticket point by the hut operates at least 30 April–30 September, 9:00–15:00; otherwise buy online.
- Dogs are banned on the green trail from Przełęcz Karkonoska to the hut and along Mokra Droga to Jakuszyce; elsewhere they must be on a lead.
- The trails from the hut to Śnieżne Kotły are closed in winter depending on conditions and were closed in spring 2026 to protect black grouse and falcons. Check the park’s trail bulletin (opens in a new tab) (in Polish).
