Muzeum Ziemi JUNA (JUNA Earth Museum) in Szklarska Poręba
Muzeum Ziemi JUNA – Strażnica Walońska (JUNA Earth Museum) is a mineral museum at ul. Jeleniogórska 9 in Szklarska Poręba, with more than 350 m² of exhibits about Sudeten minerals and the medieval prospectors known as the Walloons. It is open Tuesday to Saturday 10:00–18:00 and on Sundays 10:00–15:00.
What will you see at the JUNA Earth Museum?
The exhibition covers more than 350 m². It features an extensive mineral collection, the story of the medieval stone and ore seekers known as the Walloons, and the history of mineral extraction in the Sudetes. A separate display of minerals that glow under UV light opened in January 2026.
Is it good for children?
- Children from the age of 3 get a cheaper ticket, the same as school pupils.
- The museum offers quests — tasks to solve during the visit.
- In the 2026 summer holidays the museum runs mineral workshops: panning for “gold”, making your own mineral bracelet and creating your own mineral sample card.
Do you have to pay to enter the shop?
No. The mineral shop and the first room are free; a ticket is needed for the whole exhibition. Tickets are sold on site.
Is it a good idea on a rainy day?
Yes — the whole exhibition is indoors, and there is a free car park for visitors next to the museum.
