Krucze Skały (Raven Rocks) in Szklarska Poręba
Krucze Skały (Raven Rocks) are two granite towers up to 30 metres high on the right bank of the Kamienna river in Szklarska Poręba (718 m above sea level), with a viewpoint over the valley and the Izera Mountains. From the free car park by St Maximilian Kolbe Church it is about a 10-minute walk to the top.
What are Krucze Skały?
They are one of the most distinctive rock groups in Szklarska Poręba: two massive granite towers reaching 30 metres, with weathering pits on top. You can reach the viewpoint without any climbing.
What is the view like?
From the top you look over the Kamienna valley, part of Szklarska Poręba and the Izera Mountains. The viewpoint has safety railings.
How much time do I need?
The walk from the church car park is about 390 m and 10 minutes. Allow about 30 minutes for the upper viewpoint, or about 45 minutes if you also want to see the rocks from the river side.
Is it good with children?
Yes, it is a short, pleasant family walk. Take care at the top, though — keep younger children by the hand near the rock faces. After rain, stones, roots and rocks can be slippery.
Is there an entry fee?
No. Krucze Skały are outside Karkonosze National Park, with no ticket office and no opening hours.
